Sobek's Epithets

Much of this list is copied from the old Per Sebek wordpress site, but I have a bunch of others I didn't add there for whatever reason from my LAGG translations, so I'm adding those along with the others that are also up there. This is by no means comprehensive, but translating Sobek's epithets is an ongoing project that I get to every now and then, and will keep working on until it's finished.

This first list is taken from Marco Zecchi’s book, ‘Sobek of Shedet: The Crocodile God in the Fayyum in the Dynastic Period’ (2010). Most of these refer to Sobek of Shedet/Sobek of Crocodopolis, though some were eventually shared with Sobek of Kom Ombo. I’ve sorted them thematically, just to make it easier to manage. For anyone interested in this book, Zecchi has made it available on academia.edu as a pdf, saving you from purchasing a hardcover for many many dollars like I had to do! You may need an account to read or download it, I can't remember how academia.edu works anymore. D: But it is there if you want to access it and learn a lot more about Sobek Shedety. <3

I’m beginning to translate Sobek’s epithets from the pages available in Google Books. This will be added to as I go, but since I don't speak German, I'm relying on Google Translate in order to get translations and my knowledge of ancient Egyptian language to figure out how best to word them. If any of these need correcting, please do let me know!
