Historical Kemetic Planetary Hymns

A collection of planetary hymns based on the historical Kemetic planetary deities. These are more Kemetic-based than the classical set.

Sun:
Hail to you, Aten,
beautiful disk of the sun,
You who are Ra-Horakhty,
shining in the horizon,
in His name of Shu-who-is-in-the-Aten,
Life-giving light that illuminates the Two Lands,
Shine down on me,
Bless me with the power to create my own success,
May I be as rich in life as You are rich in sunlight,
May I prosper under Your care,
Hail to you, Aten, who shines in His Heaven!

Moon:
Hail, Iah, bright lunar disk,
Splendid One, Ba of Wesir,
Lord of the Night Barque
that sails through the Duat,
Protect me from the dangers of the night,
Guide me with Your soft light into the dawn,
Help me tread safely through the shadows
and return whole and purified,
Hail, Iah, Lord of Time in the Night Barque!

Mars:
Hail, Heru of the Horizon,
Hail, Heru, the Red One!
Mars, the eastern star,
He who travels backwards,
Lord of strength and power,
Bone breaker, sky shaker,
Mighty falcon, warrior and king,
May your fire fill me with energy,
Your heart fill me with courage,
And your strength empower me to act,
Where I might otherwise hesitate,
Hail to you, Heru, who resides in the Horizon!

Mercury:
Hail to You, Sebaga,
Mercurial One in the Heavens,
Lord, who is Djehuty in the morning twilight,
and who is Set in the evening twilight,
Guide my hands in the ways of Ma'at,
Guide my voice in the ways of Ma'at,
May I learn precision and healing from Your hands,
May I be purified as You are purified,
Hail to you, Sebaga, Holy One in the Heavens!

Jupiter:
Hail, Heru, who illuminates the Two Lands!
Hail to the southern star of the sky!
Bright falcon who bounds the Two Lands,
Jupiter, Mysterious One, Who opens the secrets,
May I soar upon Your wings,
traversing all that wishes to get in my way,
Guide my hands and my voice in devotion,
and hold me fast in Your claws, safe and sound.
Hail, Heru, who illuminates the Two Lands.

Venus:
Hail, Venus, Morning Star,
Wesir, Beautiful of Face,
the phoenix and the heron,
Lord of Love and Peace,
who endures forever in the beautiful West,
Open my heart to Ma'at,
as I offer Ma'at to You.
Open my heart to Love,
as I offer Love to You,
Hail to You, Wesir, morning star,
May You love me as I love You.

Saturn:
Hail to You, Heru, Bull of the Sky,
Saturn, the eastern and western star,
Bright Bull, Great of Strength,
Lord who rules over this day,
Lord of time who counts the hours,
Teach me patience and persistence,
Help me master the skills to succeed,
And listen well to Your wisdom,
Hail, Heru, Bull of the Sky!
